Ide (Leuciscus idus), "yaz" in Russian, is a carp-family fish of large rivers. Its meat is pale, sweetish and juicier than pike or zander; dried, it is firm but not hard.
The fish is gutted before drying, so there is no bitterness from the innards. The head stays on, as is usual for dried fish.
To clean it: snap off the head, open it along the back and carry on by hand. Like every carp-family fish, ide has small bones in the meat, so take your time.

Sold by weight. Store somewhere dry and cool, ideally in paper or cloth: in an airtight bag dried fish sweats and spoils.
